Ask anyone around you and I will bet money they have heard of the once thriving Circuit City. The Disneyland for the “Techies” everywhere. Aisles filled with Big Screen TV’S, MacBooks, Headphones, the latest and the greatest. Walking in was feeling like you were in a sequel of “Back to the Future”.
The same feeling followed when Best Buy arouse. Not long after, Best Buy dominated and Circuit City declined in the early 2000″s.
However, Circuit City is back for vengence, thanks to Circuit City CEO Ronny Shmoel.
While all other storefronts are on there knees serving to the online retailer Amazon, Circuit City is stepping up to the plate.
CEO Ronny Shmoel is taking a different approach in this new digital age. Circuit City is not shying away from millennials but rather catering to them. Giving a completely new shopping experience in stores. Equipped with vendor sites and a virtual catalog.
This can be an amazing feature considering some of the biggest retailers do not have this.
While all other store fronts are going bankrupt and/or disappearing, Circuit City is reappearing in the most fragile time for storefronts. The stakes are high but with Ronny Shmoel’s vision I believe they will be the start of a whole new shopping experience.
What can all of us entreprenuers and business owners learn from Ronny Shmoel? Innovation is key to success. Especially in this digital world, constant change must be adapted to, and at an exceptional pace.
